How long does it typically take a student to complete Keys at Play, Book 1?
Keys at Play, Book 1 contains 88 short, appealing pieces. If you assign 2-4 pieces per week, the book will be completed in about 6-12 months. In same cases, you may want a slower pace of just one piece per week. I suggest starting with an assignment of 2 pieces, and then at the next lesson assessing whether the student (especially if older) can handle an increase to 3 or 4 per week.
What is the print and production quality like for the Keys at Play books?
Keys at Play is printed on US Letter sized, 60# paper. The cover is printed in full color with a velvety matte finish. The book is coil bound, allowing it to easily lie open flat. I think you'll appreciate the beautiful printing and overall excellent quality!
Where will my book be printed?
Keys at Play books are printed through a print-on-demand company consisting of a global network of printers, with print facilities in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, India, and Australia. Whenever possible, your book will be manufactured and shipped from the printer closest to the shipping destination.
How long does printing take?
My books are printed through a print-on-demand company which has an estimated standard production time of approximately 3-7 business days (Monday through Friday) after the order is submitted. Once your order has been printed and packaged, it is shipped using the method you chose during checkout. (See the Shipping FAQs.) You will receive an email when your order is ready for shipping, and then again when it is picked up by the carrier.
Is Keys at Play, Book 1 available in languages other than English?
Not yet — however, you may be glad to know that there is very little text in the Piano Play book. It’s very useable with students who speak languages other than English. That said, if you’d like to volunteer to help with translating Keys at Play, please contact me!

Do I need to create an account during checkout?
No, it's not necessary to create an account (you may checkout as a guest), but you may want to create an account if you'd like to be able to see your order history. At the conclusion of your order, you will be given the option to create a free account. Having an account will allow you to view any past orders associated with your email address.
In addition, having a free account will also allow you take advantage of downloading the free resources available on the Printables page. So, I do recommend creating an account!
Can I cancel or update my order?
Unfortunately, orders for hardcopy books typically cannot be cancelled or updated, since they are sent within an hour to my print-on-demand service for fulfillment. Please be sure to enter your shipping address and other order information carefully for accuracy.
That said, don't hesitate to reach out to me to let me know about any issues and I'll do my best to see if there's any way I can help.
Where can I enter a discount code, if I have one?
On desktop computers, discount codes are entered on the first step of the checkout process. On mobile devices, you can tap "Show order summary" or wait until the final step of the checkout process to enter a discount code.
Discount codes are case sensitive and must be entered exactly as they appear. Please verify the expiration date and whether it can be used for the product you are purchasing. Please note that discounts cannot be combined with other offers and cannot be applied to previous orders.
To which countries can you ship your books?
The print-on-demand service I use has a number of print facilities and can ship to many, many countries around the world! If you have trouble checking out and find I've not added your country to my shop yet, please send me an email to request it.
How much is shipping? How long will it take?
Shipping rates vary by location. To view the shipping options for your address, place your desired books in the cart and complete the first step of the checkout process. You'll then see a variety of shipping options to choose from. Each shipping option will show an estimated arrival time (inclusive of both printing and shipping time).
In the U.S., for example, you'll find that the shipping expense for one (1) book starts at $6.44 USD (via Mail with tracking, generally arriving in 13-17 business days). Other shipping options for U.S. customers include Ground, Priority Mail, Expedited Shipping, and Express Shipping.
In other words, this is not like Amazon Prime shipping. :) You'll need to plan on allowing at least 2-3 weeks for your order to arrive. Thanks for supporting my small business!
International customers: You are responsible for any additional duties or custom fees that may be incurred. I'm not yet familiar with what fees might be encountered in particular countries, but I'd love to hear. If you find out, please let me know.
How do I know if my order has shipped?
You will receive an email letting you know when your order is on the way.
Can I track my order once it’s been shipped?
Yes! All of our shipping options, both domestic and international, include tracking. Once your order is printed and ready to ship, you’ll receive another email with your tracking number. If you click the tracking number link, you’ll be taken to the USPS website to view information regarding where your package is and when it is scheduled to arrive. Please note: It typically takes 24-48 hours for the tracking information to first appear in the system after the order ships.
Who is responsible for any duties or customs fees?
Local Customs and Immigration agencies determine duties or taxes levied against packages arriving from outside the destination country. These additional fees are the responsibility of the recipient. Neither the printer nor I can be held responsible for any costs incurred by the purchaser or recipient of orders due to shipment failure or late delivery.
Can I get an exchange or refund?
If you receive damaged, defective, or incorrectly packaged items, my printer is happy to provide a replacement copy. Please click here to email me, within 25 days (if at all possible) of your order's shipment date. Be sure to include your order number when submitting your support request. You will also need to provide digital images to show the defects or damage done to your order. Once I hear from you, I will contact support and put in a request for replacement of the book(s) in your order.
As for cases other than damaged or defective items... As a general rule, I cannot accept physical product returns or grant refunds, due to the nature of the print-on-demand manufacturing process through Lulu. That said, If you are unsatisfied with your purchase for other reasons, please do let me know and I'll see if there's anything I can do for your particular situation!
